Get involved and make a difference!
Our property taxes continue to soar while the City and other government entities have collected more of our tax dollars on a year-to-year basis. This is why I propose that we immediately increase the homestead exemption to the 20% maximum. At the City level, we must set the example by adopting fiscally conservative budgets that will actually reduce city taxes.
When we do spend tax dollars, we must focus our efforts where it matters the most: on core city services such as public safety, parks, trails, streets, and sidewalks. We should allocate a larger percentage of the City budget to streets and sidewalks. We can do better.
I believe it is a City’s duty to maintain the highest levels of public safety, and I remain as thankful as ever for the protection provided to my family and community by the men and women in law enforcement. Particularly in these trying times, we must express our gratitude to all those who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. Keller’s Police Officers and Firefighters are some of our Nation’s finest.
We must renew our focus on a cohesive economic development plan that focuses on high-quality, taxpayer-friendly development. This starts with recruiting more excellent commercial amenities to Keller that will provide us with more options, and in turn, will help reduce the property tax burden.
Like many of you, my Family moved to Keller for its world-class schools. From ensuring student safety, to proposing a mentoring program for Keller ISD’s youth, I will prioritize collaborating with Keller ISD.
Whether you donate your time, treasure, or ideas, your support means everything.
